Bassenthwaite Parish Room
Modern community hall located on the outskirts of Bassenthwaite village
About
Bassenthwaite Parish Room is a modern community hall located on the outskirts of Bassenthwaite village, close to Keswick and Cockermouth. The hall is spectacularly located in the foothills of Skiddaw with views over the North Lakes fells.
Originally built in 1908, the Parish Room was rebuilt in 2017 to Passivhaus standards with the aid of the Big Lottery Fund. The fully accessible hall includes a large function room with full audio visual facilities, a well-equipped catering kitchen, a private meeting room, excellent shower and toilet facilities, WiFi and parking.
Bassenthwaite Parish Room is a wonderful facility used extensively by local community organisations for classes, meetings and social events. Regular events range from restorative yoga and Scottish country dancing to soup lunches, WI and community film night. The Parish Room also provides a regular venue for Arts Out West touring shows using our portable staging.
The Parish Room can be hired for private events and weekend bookings. Its outstanding facilities and location make it an attractive venue for weddings and social events or cycling and walking weekends.
